Our Mission

The mission of Lil Saints Daycare Ministry is to prepare children for the world through education and the Word of God.

Our Philosophy

Lil Saints Daycare is based on the belief that all children are a unique gift from God and that we have been appointed as stewards over them during this season in their lives to help plant seeds that will further develop their mind, body, and spirit. Our hope is to partner with parents in educating and developing their child academically and spiritually so that they will be successful in kindergarten and beyond. We aim to do this through learning activities that develop their cognitive, spiritual, physical intellectual and social/emotional growth. We also keep classroom sizes small so that children receive the attention they need.

We believe:

• Early education is crucial to a child’s development and success in kindergarten and future academic success.
• Young children learn best with hands-on learning activities that are engaging and stimulating.
• The success of a child’s learning experience is related to the education and training of the teachers by whom they are taught.
• Children are unique with different learning abilities. Therefore, it is our job as Early Childhood Educators to meet their individual needs with developmentally appropriate teaching practices.
• The spiritual health of children is important for spiritual conditions can impact a child’s learning ability and/or emotional and physical health.

Who We Are

Lil Saints Daycare is a ministry of Missionary Baptist Church, Inc. dba First Samuel Church (W)holistic Ministries. The vision of First Samuel Church (W)holistic Ministries is to use a (W)holistic approach to enhance and develop the total man regardless of race, color, gender, national origin, age, religion, disability, and to see all individuals and families growing and flourishing in all areas of their lives. Located in the Haughville community, our church has been in existence since 1952 and was incorporated in 1999.

When the childcare struggles of some of our church and community members became apparent, our church acted. In the year 2000, the Lil Saints Daycare Ministry was formed to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children while their parents are at work. Our center started with a hand full of children, but as time grew was able to expand and operate all-day care of up to 30 children; a before and after-school care program of 25 students and a summer program.

Our center enrolls children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old.
